In July 2018, CBC were approached by a company who wanted to tender to the HSE and were looking for not only professional bid support but a Bid Consultant with significant experience in Public Sector tendering and in particular, the HSE.
The company had a high-value tender of strategic importance that it wished to secure and required CBC to support their Bid Manager to write and develop each technical response. CBC provided a Bid Consultant with extensive experience of tendering to the HSE, who understood the environment with which the contract would be delivered. This ensured that the Consultant was able to impart essential knowledge about the type of information the HSE typically requires and considers important to them and their service users.
The client’s own Bid Writer had developed some of the responses which needed to be reviewed and subsequently amended. However, they had underestimated the volume of information required by the HSE for them to understand the client’s proposed solution and ensure a compliant and successful bid.
As the deadline approached, and to add additional pressure to the situation, the client’s Bid Writer was out of the country and only available outside of normal business hours to work on the tender. By working collaboratively, we developed a tag team approach to work within the time available to ensure that every detail of the specification was addressed. As this was an innovative solution, CBC encouraged the use of infographics and flowcharts to support the bid and illustrate operational and system processes.
Added Value
By ensuring each response was written to the highest quality, the client was able to reuse the responses to populate their tender library for future bids. In addition, CBC created a range of new supporting documents which can now be used for day to day supplier questionnaires, as well as future tender submissions.
CBC has successfully worked with this client on several multi-million euro tenders and continues to provide bid management and bid writing support including delivering tender training to a dedicated resource within the company.
